Shabbona Grove is a small place in DeKalb County, Illinois, in the United States. It's not a city or town with its own government, which is why it's called an "unincorporated community." You can find Shabbona Grove near the southern edge of Shabbona Lake State Park. It's about 2.5 miles (4 km) southeast of a town called Shabbona.

The Story of Shabbona Grove

A long time ago, in 1844, Shabbona Grove got its own post office. This was a place where people could send and receive letters and packages. The post office served the community for many years. It finally closed down in 1933.

In 1885, Shabbona Grove was "platted." This means that a map was made showing how the land was divided into lots and streets. This helped organize the community. The name "Shabbona Grove" comes from Shabbona, who was a respected chief of the Potawatomi Native American tribe.
