Shabnam Surayyo was born on October 14, 1981, in Kulob, Tajikistan. Music runs in her family! Her mother, Surayyo Qosimova, and her sister, Farzona Khurshed, are also well-known singers in Tajikistan.
Rising to Fame
Shabnam quickly became very popular. In 2006, one of her songs became the number one hit in Tajikistan. She is also very loved in Afghanistan. This is because she often works with Afghan singers. She also sings her own versions of their songs. Sometimes she sings with the original artists, and sometimes she gets their permission to cover their music.
Collaborations and Duets
Shabnam has sung many songs with other artists. She recorded a duet called "Ey Khuda" with the Afghan singer Jawid Sharif. She has also worked with other famous Tajik singers.
