Shakir Ali (1914–1975) was a famous modern Pakistani artist and art teacher. He was the principal of the National College of Arts in Lahore, Pakistan, starting in 1962. He worked hard to make this college better and more modern. Many students looked up to him, and some of them later became famous artists in Pakistan too.
The Shakir Ali Museum
Before he passed away, Shakir Ali gave many of his paintings and artworks to a special group. This group was a non-profit trust that wanted to create a museum.
The Shakir Ali Museum was opened after he died in 1975. The Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) decided to buy Shakir Ali's house. They turned his house into the museum.
Visiting the Museum
The museum is located in Lahore. It has a great collection of art. It is a very helpful place for art students and teachers to learn. The PNCA is in charge of the museum's art shows and daily tasks.
