Shamrock Lakes is a small town in Blackford County, Indiana, United States. It is part of Licking Township. The town officially became a town on May 21, 1973. This was a special event because it was the first community in Indiana to become a town in 50 years!
The town is built around a group of six lakes. These lakes were made between 1960 and 1965. The very first lake was originally dug to provide water for a farmer's cows. Shamrock Lakes was even featured on the front page of USA Today. It was one of only five places in the United States named after the shamrock, which is a symbol of Ireland.
