The Shanlong Vegetable Park (which means "Mountain Ridge Vegetable Park" in Chinese, traditional Chinese: 山隴蔬菜公園; simplified Chinese: 山陇蔬菜公园; pinyin: Shānlǒng Shūcài Gōngyuán) is a special farming area. It is located in Nangan Township, which is part of the Matsu Islands in Taiwan. This park is a place where vegetables are grown, but it's also a pretty area for people to visit.
History of the Park
This park is actually made up of many small farms. These farms used to belong to different people. Because so many people owned small parts of the land, it was hard to build big businesses there. So, the local government, called the Lienchiang County Government, decided to make the area beautiful. They turned it into a park and named it Shanlong Vegetable Park.
Selling the Vegetables
The fresh vegetables grown at Shanlong Vegetable Park are very important to the local people. After they are harvested, these vegetables are sent to the nearby Shizi Market. At this market, the produce is sold to people living on the Matsu Islands. This helps make sure that fresh, local food is available for everyone.
