Shanna Lynn Moakler (born March 28, 1975) is an American actress, model, and beauty pageant winner. She won the Miss New York USA pageant in 1995. She was also the first runner-up at Miss USA 1995. When the winner, Chelsi Smith, became Miss Universe 1995, Shanna took over as Miss USA. She was also featured in ... magazine in December 2001.
Shanna later became an actress. She was a regular on the TV show Pacific Blue in 1998. In 2005, she starred as herself in the reality show Meet the Barkers. This show was about her life with her husband at the time, Travis Barker, who is the drummer for the band Blink-182. She also hosted Bridalplasty on E! in 2010 and 2011. In 2014, Shanna joined the cast of the VH1 reality series Hollywood Exes.
Since 2012, Shanna Moakler has been an executive producer for the Miss Nevada USA pageant. She also took over the Miss Utah USA pageant in 2018.

Early life and background
Shanna Moakler was born in Providence, Rhode Island. Her family background includes German, Irish, Portuguese, and Polish roots. She has two older brothers. Her older sister passed away in 2012.
As a child, Shanna loved visiting her grandfather's farm on weekends. She enjoyed playing outdoors and being active. For 12 years, Shanna was a competitive roller skater. This meant she took part in roller skating competitions, much like ice skating events. She went to Barrington High School. Shanna has said she was quite shy and small until she was 17. After graduating, she moved to Miami to start a modeling career. Later, she moved to New York City and then to Los Angeles.

When Shanna Moakler was 17, she represented Rhode Island in the Miss Teen USA 1992 pageant. She performed well in the early rounds and made it to the semi-finals. She finished seventh overall in the competition. In 1993, Shanna won the Miss Teen All American title.
In 1995, Shanna was named Miss New York USA. She then represented New York in the Miss USA pageant. She did very well in the competition, especially in the evening gown part. Overall, Shanna was the first runner-up in the Miss USA Pageant. In May 1995, when she was 20, Shanna became Miss USA. This happened because the original winner, Chelsi Smith, went on to win Miss Universe.
Shanna enjoyed some parts of being Miss USA, like attending celebrity events. However, she also mentioned that she had to sign autographs in unusual places. She also had to live with a chaperone who made sure she acted appropriately.
In 2009, there was a discussion about the Miss USA pageant and marriage equality. Shanna Moakler supported efforts to change a law in California. Later, she resigned from her role as co-director for the Miss California USA pageant. She stated she could not support the Miss Universe Organization anymore. However, she returned to the Miss California USA organization in November 2009.
Shanna has also worked with PETA. In 2008, she appeared in an ad to support vegetarianism. In 2013, she posed for a PETA campaign against fur. She stated that as long as she was the director of Miss Nevada, fur coats would not be given as prizes.

Television appearances
Shanna Moakler began her television career in 1996. She appeared in shows like Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman and Due South. In 1997, she played Lisa in the NBC movie Friends 'Til the End. She also appeared in an episode of Timecop in 1998.
From 1998, Shanna was a regular on the TV drama Pacific Blue. This show on the USA Network was about police officers who patrolled beaches on bicycles. Shanna played Officer Monica Harper, a new officer who sometimes caused trouble. She admitted that even with expensive bikes, the cast would sometimes crash into each other while filming.
Shanna was also a celebrity contestant on Search Party. This game show on the E! network was filmed at beach resorts. Contestants teamed up for athletic events and scavenger hunts. Shanna appeared in three episodes between 1999 and 2000.
In 2005, Shanna made guest appearances on Joey and Jake in Progress. That same year, she and her husband at the time, Travis Barker, starred in Meet the Barkers. Personal life
Shanna Moakler had a relationship with rock star Billy Idol in 1997. They appeared together in a scene from the movie The Wedding Singer.
Shanna started dating boxer Oscar De La Hoya in October 1997. They became engaged in October 1998. They have one daughter together. Their relationship ended in September 2000.
On October 30, 2004, Shanna Moakler married Travis Barker. He is the drummer for the band Blink-182. Shanna and Travis have two children together, a son and a daughter. Travis filed for divorce in August 2006. Their divorce was finalized in February 2008.
In June 2016, it was reported that Shanna and Travis were working well together to raise their two children.
