Shareeka Epps (born July 11, 1989) is an American actress. She is famous for her role in the 2006 movie Half Nelson, where she acted alongside Ryan Gosling. For her amazing work in that film, she won an important award called the Independent Spirit Award for Best Female Lead.

In 2004, Shareeka starred in a short film called Gowanus, Brooklyn. She played a high school student named Drey. The film was a success and won an award at the famous Sundance Film Festival.
Breakthrough Role in Half Nelson
The success of Gowanus, Brooklyn helped create a longer movie called Half Nelson. Shareeka played Drey again in this film. This time, the teacher's role was played by actor Ryan Gosling. Another rising star, Anthony Mackie, also appeared in the movie.

In 2007, Shareeka appeared in the movie Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem. Most of her scenes were cut from the final movie. She had a small part as an extra in one scene.
Her first TV appearance was in 2008. She was in an episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit called "Undercover." In 2013, she starred in the movie American Milkshake.
Music Project with Ryan Gosling
In 2009, Shareeka lent her voice to some songs. She provided spoken word vocals for the band Dead Man's Bones. Interestingly, Ryan Gosling, her co-star from Half Nelson, is one of the two members of this band.
