Sharon Dahlonega Bush (born Sharon Daisy Raiford) is an American television newscaster and print journalist. She was born in Greensboro, North Carolina, and now lives in Los Angeles, California. Sharon Bush is known for her work in television news and for being a producer.

Learning and Growing: Sharon Bush's Education

Sharon Bush studied philosophy at North Carolina A&T State University. She continued her education at the University of Detroit and Georgia State University in Atlanta. She also studied at the US Naval Air Technical Training Command.

A Trailblazing Career in Television News

Sharon Bush made history in 1975 at WGPR-TV. This station was the world's first television station owned and run by Black people. There, she became American television's first African-American female weather anchor for primetime news. Primetime news is the main news broadcast shown in the evening when many people are watching TV.

Later, Sharon Bush, who was then known as Sharon Crews, continued her career in news. She anchored news and weather at CBS and NBC network stations. These stations were in North Carolina and Tennessee. After that, she became a correspondent and executive producer for Black Entertainment Television in Atlanta, Georgia. An executive producer helps manage and create television shows.

Bush also worked as a morning news anchor at WGHP-TV. This station was an ABC affiliate in High Point, North Carolina. She was also an executive producer for the 1985 National Blues Music Awards.
