Shawn Jefferson (born February 22, 1969) is an American football coach. He used to be a wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL). Today, he is the wide receivers coach for the New York Jets. He has also coached for other NFL teams like the Arizona Cardinals, Miami Dolphins, Tennessee Titans, and Detroit Lions.

College Football Career

Shawn Jefferson played college football at the University of Central Florida. This is where he developed his skills before joining the NFL.

Playing in the NFL

Shawn Jefferson was chosen by the Houston Oilers in the 1991 NFL Draft. This means he was picked by a team to play professional football. He played in the NFL for many years.

He played in 195 regular season games. He also played in 12 playoff games. Shawn Jefferson even made it to two Super Bowls (Super Bowl XXIX and Super Bowl XXXI).

Miami Dolphins Coaching

On January 12, 2016, the Miami Dolphins hired him. He continued to coach wide receivers for them. He worked under head coach Adam Gase.

New York Jets Coaching

In 2019, Shawn Jefferson joined the New York Jets. He became the assistant head coach and wide receivers coach. He worked with Adam Gase again. He is currently the wide receivers coach for the Jets.
