Shawne Brian Williams (born February 16, 1986) is an American former professional basketball player. He played college basketball for the University of Memphis. After college, he was chosen 17th overall in the 2006 NBA draft by the Indiana Pacers.

Early Days in Basketball
High School Achievements
Shawne Williams was a highly-rated basketball player in high school. Experts at Rivals.com thought he was one of the best. In 2005, he was ranked as the 5th best shooting guard. He was also the 15th best player in the entire nation.
College Success
Williams played college basketball for the University of Memphis. In his first year (2005–06), he played in 36 games. He started 34 of those games. He scored about 13.2 points per game. He also grabbed 6.2 rebounds per game. Williams was a great defender, averaging 1.4 steals and blocks. He was the top freshman in his conference for scoring and rebounding. He even won the MVP award for the Conference USA tournament.
Professional Basketball Career
Starting in the NBA
Shawne Williams began his professional career with the Indiana Pacers. He signed with them on July 6, 2006. His first NBA game was on December 11, 2006. He scored 13 points against the Chicago Bulls. On October 10, 2008, he was traded to the Dallas Mavericks.
Playing for Different Teams
Williams played for several teams during his career. After the Mavericks, he joined the New Jersey Nets in January 2010. Later that year, on September 23, 2010, the New York Knicks signed him. He had one of his best seasons with the Knicks. He was an important player coming off the bench. The Knicks even made it to the 2011 NBA playoffs with him.
In December 2011, Williams returned to the New Jersey Nets. He later played for the Los Angeles Lakers in 2013. He also played for the Los Angeles D-Fenders in the NBA D-League. In 2014, he signed with the Miami Heat. He then played for the Detroit Pistons. His last professional teams included the Iowa Wolves and Al-Riffa.
Life Off the Court
Shawne Williams is married to Jessica Dime. She is a rapper and was on the TV show Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta. They have two children together. Their daughter, Blessing, was born in 2018. Their son, Wisdom, was born in 2023. Williams chose to play for the New York Knicks because his older brother, who passed away, had last seen him play at Madison Square Garden. This made playing for the Knicks very special to him.
