Shearwater (also called Shear Water) is a lake in Wiltshire, England. It is a freshwater lake that was made by people. You can find it near the village of Crockerton. It is about 2.25 miles (3.6 km) southwest of the town of Warminster.
The lake is part of the Longleat Estate. This estate is also home to the famous Longleat Safari Park. Shearwater is the biggest of five lakes on the estate.

History of Shearwater Lake
Shearwater Lake was built a long time ago, at the end of the 1700s. A person named Francis Egerton, who was the 3rd Duke of Bridgwater, designed it. Streams flow into the lake. These streams were held back by a dam built by the Marquis of Bath at that time.
What to Do at Shearwater Lake
Shearwater Lake is a popular spot for many activities. It is surrounded by old, tall trees, making it a beautiful place to visit.

The lake is about 650 yards (594 meters) long. There is a tea-room at Bargate Cottage where you can get a drink or snack. Dogs are welcome inside the tea-room.
Sailing at Shearwater
The Shearwater Sailing Club has a special building for boats by the lake. They have different kinds of small sailboats called dinghies. The biggest dinghies are about 16 feet (4.88 meters) long.
