Sheebah Karungi, known professionally as Queen Karma or Sheebah, is a popular musician, dancer, and actress from Uganda. She was born on November 11, 1989. Sheebah is also known for speaking up for women's rights.
She started her acting journey in the movie Queen of Katwe, playing a character named Shakira. After leaving a dance group called Obsessions in 2006, she began making her own music. She became very famous after releasing her hit song "Ice Cream".
In 2014, Sheebah released her first music project, an EP (Extended Play) also called Ice Cream. This EP had five songs and was very successful. Because of her great music, she won the HiPipo Music Awards for Best Female Artist many times. She won this award every year from 2015 to 2024. She also won Artist of the Year in 2017, 2018, and 2019. In 2024, she was chosen as the vice president of the Uganda National Musician Federation, working alongside Eddy Kenzo.

Early Life and School
Sheebah Karungi was born on November 11, 1989. She grew up in Kawempe, a part of Kampala, Uganda. Her mother, Edith Kabazungu, raised her alone.
Sheebah went to Kawempe Muslim Primary School for her basic education. However, she left Midland High School in Kawempe when she was in her second year of high school.
Music Career
Sheebah started dancing for money when she was 15 years old. She first joined a dance group called Stingers. In 2006, she moved to the Obsessions Music Group. While with Obsessions, she became interested in singing. She recorded two songs before deciding to start her own solo music career.
In 2010, Sheebah released her first official song, "Kunyenyenza." She then released "Bulikyenkola" with KS Alpha and Prince Fahim, and "Baliwa" with Coco Finger. Her solo career really took off when she released "Automatic," a song written by Sizzaman.
After "Automatic" became a hit, she worked with Sizzaman again to create "Ice Cream." This song was played everywhere and received great reviews. She then released another popular song called "Twesana."
First Music Projects
In 2014, Sheebah released her first music collection, the Ice Cream EP. It had five hit songs, including "Ice Cream" and "Jordan." This EP was very popular and helped her win Best Female Artist at the HiPipo Music Awards in 2014 and 2015.
Her second big music project was called Nkwatako.
Live Shows and Business
Sheebah held her "Nkwatako Concert" in 2016 and her "Omwoyo Concert" in 2018. Both concerts took place at Hotel Africana in Kampala. Her management team, Team No Sleep, organized these events. Cathy Patra, who has choreographed many of Sheebah's music videos, choreographed the "Omwoyo" concert.
Besides music, Sheebah is also a successful businesswoman. Through her Sheebah Investments, she has started several businesses in Kampala. These include The Red Bar, Red Events (which she co-owns with dancer Cathy Patra), and a hair extension business called Sheebah by Natna.
Personal Life
Sheebah has shared that she does not plan to get married, but she might have children. She announced she was expecting a baby during her Neyanziza concert on October 4, 2024, in Kampala. She gave birth to a healthy baby boy named Amir on November 24, 2024, in Canada.
