Shelina Laura Zadorsky (born October 24, 1992) is a Canadian professional soccer player. She plays as a centre-back for West Ham United and the Canada national team. A centre-back is a defender who plays in the middle of the field. Their main job is to stop the other team from scoring goals.

Shelina has played for several clubs around the world, including teams in Australia and Sweden. She is also a very successful player for her country. She won a bronze medal with Canada at the 2016 Rio Olympics. Later, she helped Canada win a gold medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Shelina Zadorsky played college soccer for the Michigan Wolverines team. She was part of their team from 2010 to 2013.

Playing for Ottawa Fury FC

Shelina played for the Ottawa Fury Women team. She was the captain of this team. In 2013, she led them to a second-place finish in their conference final. The next year, in 2014, they won their conference. The Ottawa Fury women's team stopped playing in 2015.

Time with Perth Glory

On August 1, 2014, Shelina joined the Australian team Perth Glory. This was before the 2014 W-League season started. She played 14 games for Perth Glory and scored one goal. She helped the team win the regular season and reach the Grand Final.

Playing for Vittsjö GIK

After her time with Ottawa Fury ended, Shelina signed with Vittsjö GIK in Sweden. This team plays in the top Swedish football league called Damallsvenskan. She joined them on March 29, 2015. Shelina played in 18 games for Vittsjö GIK during the 2015 season.

Joining Washington Spirit

On February 8, 2016, it was announced that Shelina would play for the Washington Spirit team. This team is part of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) in the United States. She played in 11 regular season games and started 10 of them. She also played the full game in both of their playoff matches.

Shelina helped the Spirit reach their first-ever semifinal victory by assisting a goal. She was named the Spirit Newcomer of the Year for 2016. In 2017, she played 21 games for the Spirit and was the team's captain.

Moving to Orlando Pride

On January 23, 2018, Shelina was traded to the Orlando Pride team. She played in 23 games during her first season with the Pride. On September 29, 2019, she scored her first goal for the club. This goal helped them get a 1–1 draw against Sky Blue FC.

In 2020, the NWSL season was delayed because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Orlando Pride later had to withdraw from a special tournament due to positive COVID-19 tests among their players and staff.

Playing for Tottenham Hotspur

In August 2020, Shelina moved to the English club Tottenham Hotspur. She joined them on a loan deal for the 2020–21 season. This move happened because Orlando Pride had to withdraw from their tournament. In January 2021, her loan move became permanent. Shelina's strong leadership and excellent play led her to become the team captain during the 2021–22 season.

Joining West Ham United

On January 3, 2024, Shelina joined West Ham United on a loan. This loan lasted until the end of the 2023–24 season. After her contract with Tottenham ended, she returned to West Ham on August 19, 2024. She joined them as a permanent player without a transfer fee.

Youth Teams

Shelina Zadorsky started playing for Canada's youth national teams when she was just 14 years old.

  • In 2008, she won a bronze medal at the CONCACAF Women's U-17 Championship. She also played in the 2008 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup in New Zealand.

Shelina made her debut for the senior Canadian national team on January 14, 2013, when she was 20 years old.
