Shelina Laura Zadorsky, born on October 24, 1992, is a Canadian professional soccer player. She plays as a centre-back, which is a defensive position, for West Ham United in the Women's Super League. She also plays for the Canada national team.
Shelina has achieved great success with Canada. She won a bronze medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics. Later, she earned a gold medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Shelina Zadorsky played college soccer for the Michigan Wolverines team. She was part of their squad from 2010 to 2013.
Shelina's Club Career
Playing for Ottawa Fury FC
Shelina played for Ottawa Fury Women, a team in the USL W-League. She was the captain of the team. In 2013, she led them to a second-place finish in their conference. The team won their conference in 2014.
Time with Perth Glory
On August 1, 2014, Shelina joined the Australian team Perth Glory. This was before the 2014 W-League season began. She played 14 games for Perth Glory and scored one goal. Her efforts helped the team win the regular season and reach the Grand Final.
Moving to Vittsjö GIK
After her previous team, Ottawa Fury, stopped playing, Shelina moved to Sweden. On March 29, 2015, she signed with Vittsjö GIK. This team plays in the Damallsvenskan, which is the top soccer league in Sweden. She played 18 games for Vittsjö GIK during the 2015 season.
Joining Washington Spirit
On February 8, 2016, it was announced that Shelina would play for the Washington Spirit. This team is part of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) in the United States. She played 11 regular season games in 2016 and helped her team reach the playoffs. Shelina was even voted the Spirit's Newcomer of the Year for 2016.
In the 2017 season, she played 21 games for the Spirit. She also served as the team's captain.
Playing for Orlando Pride
On January 23, 2018, Shelina was traded to the Orlando Pride team. In her first season with the Pride, she played in 23 games. On September 29, 2019, she scored her first goal for the club. This goal helped them get a 1–1 draw against Sky Blue FC.
In March 2020, the NWSL season was delayed because of the coronavirus pandemic. Orlando Pride later decided not to play in the special tournament that was set up.
Joining Tottenham Hotspur
In August 2020, Shelina moved to England to play for Tottenham Hotspur. She joined them on a loan deal for the 2020–21 season. Her loan became a permanent move in January 2021. Because of her strong leadership and excellent play, she was made captain during the 2021–22 season.
Playing for West Ham United
On January 3, 2024, Shelina joined West Ham United on a loan until the end of the 2023–24 season. After her contract with Tottenham ended, she returned to West Ham permanently on August 19, 2024.
Shelina's International Career
Youth Teams
Shelina Zadorsky started playing for Canada's youth soccer teams when she was 14 years old. She won a bronze medal at the 2008 CONCACAF Women's U-17 Championship. She also played in the 2008 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup in New Zealand.
Later, she played for Canada's Under-20 team. She won a silver medal at the 2012 CONCACAF Women's U-20 Championship. She also represented Canada at the 2012 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup in Japan.
Senior National Team

Shelina made her debut for the senior Canada national team on January 14, 2013, when she was 20. She was part of the Canadian team that won a bronze medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
On May 25, 2019, she was chosen for the squad to play in the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup. Shelina was also called up for the 2020 Summer Olympics (which took place in 2021). At these Olympics, Canada won the gold medal!
She played for Canada in the 2022 CONCACAF W Championship, where Canada finished as runners-up. She was also part of the team for the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup.
In 2024, Shelina was called up for the 2024 CONCACAF W Gold Cup, where Canada reached the semifinals. On July 1, 2024, she was named as an alternate player for Canada's 2024 Summer Olympics squad. Due to a teammate's injury, Shelina was moved to the main roster. She played in two matches during the tournament.
