Shennington is a small, unincorporated community in the United States. It's located in the town of Byron, right on the edge of Monroe County, Wisconsin. You can find it along Wisconsin Highway 21. Being "unincorporated" means it's not a city or town with its own local government. Instead, it's part of a larger county or town area.
A Look Back: Shennington's History
Shennington has an interesting past. It once had its own post office! This post office opened its doors in 1893. It helped people send and receive mail for many years. However, it closed down in 1933.
The community got its name from a person named Fred M. Shenning. He was important because he founded the community. He was also its very first merchant, meaning he ran the first store there.
