Shin Asahina (朝比奈 伸, Asahina Shin, born August 20, 1976) is a former Japanese football player. He played as a defender, which means his main job was to stop the other team from scoring goals.

Shin Asahina's Football Journey
Shin Asahina was born in Fujieda, Shizuoka, Japan, on August 20, 1976. He loved football from a young age. After finishing his studies at Doshisha University, he began his professional football career.
Playing in Japan's Top Leagues
In 1999, Shin Asahina joined Gamba Osaka, a team in the J1 League. The J1 League is the highest level of professional football in Japan. He played as a center back for Gamba Osaka. Even though he didn't play in every game, he was part of a big team for four seasons until 2002.
In 2003, Shin Asahina moved to Sagan Tosu, a club in the J2 League. The J2 League is the second-highest professional league in Japan. Here, he became a regular player. He played in many matches as a key defender for two seasons.
Moving Through the Ranks
In 2005, Shin Asahina joined Rosso Kumamoto. This team was in the Japanese Regional Leagues, which are lower-level leagues. He was a very important player for them. Thanks to his strong play, Rosso Kumamoto was promoted to the Japan Football League (JFL) in 2006. The JFL is a national league, just below the professional J-Leagues.
After his time with Rosso Kumamoto, he played for Banditonce Kobe in 2007. This team was also in the Regional Leagues. He continued to play many games and show his skills.
Retirement from Football
In 2008, Shin Asahina moved to TDK, a team in the JFL. He played for TDK for two seasons, continuing to be a strong defender. At the end of the 2009 season, Shin Asahina decided to retire from playing professional football. He had a long career, playing for several teams across different leagues in Japan.
