Shin Kanazawa's Football Journey
Shin Kanazawa was born in Saitama, Japan, on September 9, 1983. He started his football career at a young age. He joined the youth team of Omiya Ardija before becoming a professional player.
Starting His Professional Career
In 2002, Shin Kanazawa joined the J2 League club Omiya Ardija. This was the same club he played for as a young player. From his very first season, he played in many games as a defensive midfielder. By 2004, he became a regular player for the team.
Big Achievements with Omiya Ardija
In the 2004 season, his team, Omiya Ardija, finished in second place. This was a big achievement! It meant the club was promoted to the J1 League for the first time ever. The J1 League is the top football league in Japan.
Playing for Tokyo Verdy
In 2005, Shin Kanazawa's chances to play for Omiya Ardija became fewer. So, in 2006, he was loaned to Tokyo Verdy. Being "loaned" means he played for another team for a while. Tokyo Verdy had just moved down to the J2 League. He played in many games for Tokyo Verdy for two seasons. By the end of the 2007 season, Tokyo Verdy moved back up to the J1 League.
Returning to Omiya Ardija
Shin Kanazawa returned to Omiya Ardija in 2008. He continued to play many matches for the club for a long time. However, from 2015 onwards, Omiya Ardija often moved between the J2 and J1 Leagues. This means they were sometimes promoted and sometimes relegated. From 2017, Shin Kanazawa played less often.
Retirement from Football
After the 2019 season, Shin Kanazawa decided to stop playing professional football. He announced his retirement, ending his long career as a player.
