Shingo Nejime (根占 真伍, Nejime Shingo, born December 22, 1984) is a former Japanese football player. He was a talented midfielder known for his time with clubs like Tokyo Verdy and Yokohama FC. Shingo was born in Tokyo, Japan, and played professionally from 2003 until his retirement in 2014.
Shingo Nejime's Football Journey
Shingo Nejime began his professional football career in 2003. He joined Tokyo Verdy, a well-known Japanese club, after playing for their youth team. In his first year, he played in many matches.
However, in 2004 and 2005, he didn't get to play as much. During this time, Tokyo Verdy also faced a tough challenge. They were moved down to a lower league, the J2 League, at the end of the 2005 season.
In 2006, Shingo played more often for Tokyo Verdy. The next year, in 2007, he moved to Yokohama FC. He played many games there too, but by 2010, his chances to play became fewer.
After his time at Yokohama FC, Shingo joined Roasso Kumamoto in 2011. He played for this club until 2012. Towards the end of his career, he moved to India. In 2013, he joined Churchill Brothers. Shingo Nejime decided to retire from football in 2014.
Playing for Japan: Under-17 Team
Shingo Nejime also had the chance to represent his country. In September 2001, he was chosen to play for the Japan U-17 national team.
This team participated in the 2001 FIFA U-17 World Championship. Shingo was an important part of the squad. He played in all three matches for Japan during this international tournament.
