Jordan Johnson, known as Shorty da Prince, is a talented American radio DJ. He is also a rapper and a television personality. Born on September 11, 1989, he has achieved a lot. He was a host on BET's popular show 106 & Park. This was from October 2012 to May 2013. Shorty da Prince is from St. Louis, Missouri. He later moved to Detroit, Michigan. There, he works as a radio host for Hot 107.5.

Shorty da Prince: Radio Star
Shorty da Prince began his radio journey very early. He was only twelve years old. He won a contest to host a show at KATZ 100.3 The Beat. This was a big start for him.
Becoming a Top DJ
He hosted a Saturday morning show. Soon, he became a popular DJ in St. Louis. He even got a prime-time slot. This was the 6 PM to midnight show. He did this Monday through Friday. Amazingly, he was still in high school at the time.
After gaining experience, Shorty became one of the best radio personalities. He worked at WHHL HOT 104.1. In 2010, he moved to Detroit. He landed a top-rated night show there. This was on HOT 107.5, a popular hip hop station. As of 2015, you can hear Shorty on 93.9 WKYS. This station covers the DC, Maryland, and Virginia areas.
From Radio to TV Host
Shorty soon realized he had more talents. He wanted to be in front of the camera too. He looked for chances in television. He quickly became a correspondent for BET's 106 & Park. Eventually, he became one of the main hosts of the show.
Shorty da Prince: Music Journey
While working in radio, Shorty also followed his passion for music. When he was fifteen, he signed a deal. This was with Track Boyz Entertainment. They are known for working with Nelly. At that time, his stage name was Shorty da Kid.
Signing with Atlantic Records
The Track Boyz helped Shorty da Kid. They took him on a tour of artist showcases. Executives from major labels attended these. These included Universal, Def Jam, Capital, and Atlantic Records. At the Atlantic Records showcase, Shorty caught the eye of Kevin Liles. Kevin Liles is a media executive. Shorty was immediately signed to Atlantic Records.
"Wah Wah Wow" and New Music
Shorty is most famous for his 2008 song. It was a summer hit called "Wah Wah Wow." He was released from Atlantic/Warner Bros Records in 2010. But Shorty still makes music for his fans. After leaving the label, he changed his stage name. He became Shorty da Prince.
Future in Radio
Starting May 5, 2014, Shorty took on a new role. He became the afternoon drive DJ. This was on Cleveland radio station WENZ 107.9 FM.
