Shosh Riseman was born in Cyprus in 1948. Her parents were traveling at the time. She loved music and graduated from the Tel Aviv Academy of Music in 1970.
She continued to study music composition and orchestration. Composition is the art of writing music. Orchestration is about arranging music for different instruments in an orchestra. She learned from famous teachers like Noam Sheriff in Israel, Hans Heimler in England, and Ralph Shapy in the USA. She also studied electronic music and singing.
Today, Shosh Riseman teaches theater arts at Tel Aviv University in Israel. She is very well-known for writing music for theater plays.
