Shunsuke Tsutsumi (堤 俊輔, Tsutsumi Shunsuke, born 8 June 1987) is a former Japanese football (soccer) player. He was a defender, which means he played in a position to stop the other team from scoring goals. Shunsuke was born on June 8, 1987, in Niiza, Saitama, Japan. He played for several well-known clubs during his career, including Urawa Red Diamonds and Avispa Fukuoka.
Shunsuke Tsutsumi's Football Journey
Shunsuke Tsutsumi began his football career in the youth teams of Urawa Red Diamonds. He played there from 2000 to 2005, learning and growing as a player. In 2006, he joined the main professional team.
During his time with Urawa Red Diamonds, Shunsuke also spent some time on loan. In 2010, he played for Roasso Kumamoto to gain more experience. After that, in 2011, he moved to Tochigi SC.
His longest period with a club was with Avispa Fukuoka, where he played from 2012 to 2018. He was a key player for them, appearing in many matches. After leaving Avispa Fukuoka, he played one year with Kagoshima United FC in 2019.
In January 2020, Shunsuke Tsutsumi decided to retire from professional football.
