Siaka Tiéné (born on February 22, 1982) is a former professional footballer from Ivory Coast. He was known for playing as a left-back, which is a defensive position on the football field. Siaka started his football journey in his home country, Ivory Coast, and later played in South Africa.
Most of his professional career was spent playing for different clubs in France. He also played many games for the Ivory Coast national team. He represented his country in seven Africa Cup of Nations tournaments and at the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

Playing for Football Clubs
Siaka Tiéné began his football career at a famous club called ASEC Mimosas in his home country, Ivory Coast. This club is well-known for training many talented young players. After playing there, he moved to South Africa to join Mamelodi Sundowns.
In 2005, Siaka moved to Europe. He joined a French club called Saint-Étienne, which plays in Ligue 1, France's top football league. He stayed there until 2006.
Later, he was loaned to Ligue 2 team Stade de Reims for a season. This happened because it was hard for him to get a regular spot in the Saint-Étienne team. He returned to Saint-Étienne in 2007.
In June 2010, Siaka Tiéné signed a contract with Paris Saint-Germain, one of the biggest clubs in France. He played there for three years. During his time at Paris Saint-Germain, he helped the team win the Ligue 1 title in the 2012–13 season.
After his time with Paris Saint-Germain, Siaka Tiéné joined Montpellier in June 2013. He played for Montpellier for two seasons, making 44 appearances in the league. He left the club in July 2015.

Siaka Tiéné had a very successful career playing for his country, the Ivory Coast. He played more than 95 games for them. This is a lot of games for any player!
He played for Ivory Coast in the 2010 FIFA World Cup, which is the biggest football tournament in the world. He also took part in seven Africa Cup of Nations tournaments. These were in 2002, 2006, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2013, and 2015.
Siaka helped his team reach the final of the Africa Cup of Nations twice, in 2006 and 2012. In 2015, he was the captain when Ivory Coast finally won the tournament! This was a huge achievement for him and his team.
In the 2006 Africa Cup of Nations, Ivory Coast made it to the final. Siaka was the only player from that team who did not get to play in the 2006 FIFA World Cup. However, he was called up for the 2010 African Cup of Nations in Angola. He was the first-choice left-back for his team in that competition.
