Siaka Tiéné, born on February 22, 1982, is a former professional football player from Ivory Coast. He mostly played as a left-back, which is a defensive position on the left side of the field.

Siaka Tiéné started his career in his home country. He then played in South Africa before spending most of his career in France. He played 96 games for the Ivory Coast national team and scored two goals. He was part of the team for seven Africa Cup of Nations tournaments and the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

Siaka Tiéné's Club Journey

Siaka Tiéné began his football journey at a famous youth academy in his home country, ASEC Abidjan. This academy has helped many talented players from Ivory Coast become national team stars.

After playing in Ivory Coast, he moved to South Africa. There, he joined Mamelodi Sundowns, a team in the top football league.

Playing in France

In 2005, Siaka Tiéné moved to Europe to play for Saint-Étienne, a club in France's top league, Ligue 1. He stayed there until October 2006.

He then went on loan to Stade de Reims, a team in the second French league, Ligue 2. He returned to Saint-Étienne in 2007.

In June 2010, Tiéné signed a contract with Paris Saint-Germain, one of France's biggest clubs. He played there for three years. He was part of the team that won the Ligue 1 title in the 2012–13 season.

After leaving Paris Saint-Germain, Tiéné joined Montpellier in June 2013. He played 44 league games for them over two seasons before leaving the club in July 2015.

Siaka Tiéné's International Career

Siaka Tiéné had a great career playing for his country, Ivory Coast. He played more than 95 games for the national team. He represented Ivory Coast in the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

He also played in seven Africa Cup of Nations tournaments. These were in 2002, 2006, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2013, and 2015.

Africa Cup of Nations Success

Tiéné helped his team reach the final of the Africa Cup of Nations twice, in 2006 and 2012. He was also the captain when Ivory Coast won the tournament in 2015. This was a huge achievement for him and his country.

He was part of the Ivorian team for the 2006 African Cup of Nations in Egypt. The team, known as the Elephants, made it to the final. Tiéné was called up for the 2010 African Cup of Nations in Angola. He was the first-choice left-back for the coach in that tournament.
