The 2013 Africa Cup of Nations was a big football tournament in Africa. It was the 29th time this event was held. The tournament took place from January 19 to February 10, 2013. The Confederation of African Football (CAF) organized it.

South Africa hosted the tournament for the second time. This was also the first time the tournament happened in an odd-numbered year. This change was made so it wouldn't clash with the FIFA World Cup.

Nigeria won the tournament! They beat Burkina Faso 1–0 in the final match. Mali came in third place. After winning, Nigeria went on to represent Africa in the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup.
