Isaac Vorsah (born June 21, 1988) is a former Ghanaian footballer who played as a centre-back. A centre-back is a central defender who helps protect the goal. Isaac started his football journey in Ghana. He later played for big clubs like TSG 1899 Hoffenheim in Germany and Red Bull Salzburg in Austria. He also proudly represented his home country, Ghana, in important international tournaments. These included three Africa Cup of Nations tournaments and the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

Club Career

Isaac's Early Football Days in Ghana

Isaac Vorsah was a talented defender. He could also play as a defensive midfielder, which means he helped protect the defense from the middle of the field. He began his career at Oscar FC in Kpando, Ghana. Later, he moved to FC Maamobi. In 2005, he joined Gamba All Blacks. After showing impressive skills, the team Asante Kotoko from Kumasi bought him in January 2007.

Playing in Germany: TSG 1899 Hoffenheim

After just six months with Asante Kotoko, a German team called TSG 1899 Hoffenheim invited Isaac for a trial. A trial is like an audition for a player. He did very well and was loaned to the club until June 2008. Because he impressed the team's management, Hoffenheim decided to buy him permanently in April 2008. He signed a contract to stay with them until June 2011. Isaac played for Hoffenheim for five seasons, from 2007 to 2012. During this time, he played in 110 league matches and scored 4 goals.

Moving to Austria: Red Bull Salzburg

In August 2012, Isaac Vorsah moved to Red Bull Salzburg in Austria. He continued to play as a defender for this club. In 2015, he also played for FC Liefering, which is a team connected to Red Bull Salzburg. He left Liefering in 2016.

Playing in Morocco: ASFAR

After leaving Red Bull Salzburg and FC Liefering, Isaac signed a new contract in January 2017. He joined a Moroccan team called ASFAR. He signed a two-year deal with them.

Playing in Saudi Arabia: Al Ohod

Later in 2017, Isaac Vorsah signed with a Saudi Arabian team called Al Ohod. He signed a one-year contract with the club, which is based in Madina. Before joining Al Ohod, there were talks that he might join teams in Norway or Denmark. In February 2018, he was even named in the "team of the week" for the Saudi Professional League. This showed how well he was playing for Ohod.

International Career

Isaac Vorsah also played for his country, Ghana. He made his first appearance for the national team against Senegal on August 21, 2007. Before that, he had played for Ghana's under-23 Olympic team, known as the Black Meteors.

He was chosen to be part of Ghana's 23-man squad for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. This is one of the biggest football tournaments in the world! Isaac played in Ghana's first match at the World Cup. However, an injury kept him out of the next few games. Luckily, he recovered in time to play in Ghana's final match of the tournament, which was a quarter-final game. He also played for Ghana in the 2010, 2012, and 2013 Africa Cup of Nations tournaments.
