Trésor Mputu Mabi (born December 10, 1985) is a famous former footballer from the Democratic Republic of Congo. He played as a midfielder and was known for his amazing skills on the field. Trésor Mputu spent most of his career playing for TP Mazembe, one of Africa's biggest football clubs. He also played for his country's national team, the DR Congo.

Playing for Clubs
Trésor Mputu joined TP Mazembe in 2002. He quickly became a very important player for the team. In 2007, he helped his club reach the African Champions League. He was the top goal scorer in that competition, scoring nine goals. He also helped his team in the CAF Confederation Cup.
In 2009 and 2010, Mputu was the captain of TP Mazembe. He led them to win the CAF Champions League two times in a row. Many European clubs were interested in him. He even had a trial with Arsenal in 2007.
In 2014, he moved to an Angolan team called Kabuscorp. After two years, in July 2016, Mputu returned to his old club, TP Mazembe. He continued to play for them until 2023.
A Time Away and Return
In August 2010, Mputu faced a difficult time. He received a 12-month ban from playing football worldwide. This happened after an incident with a referee during a match.
When he finally returned to the field a year later, he showed his talent right away. It took him only 46 seconds to score a goal for his club! This was against their rivals, TS Malkesa.
Playing for His Country
Mputu started playing for the DR Congo in 2004. He became a regular player for his country. He played in the 2006 African Cup of Nations tournament.
He also became the captain of the Congolese national team. He led the team in the 2013 African Cup of Nations tournament in South Africa. In their first game, Mputu scored a goal for Congo. They had a 2–2 draw against Ghana, who were one of the favorites to win.
After not playing for the national team for five years, he was called back in November 2018.
How He Played
In 2012, a coach named Claude Le Roy described Mputu's playing style. Le Roy had coached teams like Cameroon and DR Congo. He said Mputu could be "the next Samuel Eto'o". Samuel Eto'o is a very famous African football player.
