Trésor Mputu's Club Journey
Trésor Mputu started his professional football career in 2002. He joined a famous club called TP Mazembe. He quickly became a very important player for them.
Success with TP Mazembe
Mputu helped TP Mazembe win many important games and titles. In 2007, he was the top goal scorer in the African Champions League. This is a huge competition for the best clubs in Africa. He also helped his team reach the CAF Confederation Cup.
He was the captain of TP Mazembe when they won the CAF Champions League two times in a row, in 2009 and 2010. This was a fantastic achievement! Because of his great talent, some big European clubs, like Arsenal, were interested in him. He even had a trial with Arsenal in 2007.
In 2014, Mputu moved to an Angolan team called Kabuscorp. After two years, in July 2016, he returned to his old club, TP Mazembe, where he continued to play until 2023.
A Short Break and Return to Play
In August 2010, Mputu faced a challenge. He was given a 12-month ban from playing football after a disagreement during a match. When he returned to the field a year later, he showed his amazing skill right away. He scored a goal for his club in just 46 seconds!
Playing for His Country
Trésor Mputu also played for his national team, the DR Congo. He first played for them in 2004 and was a regular player for many years.
He represented his country in the 2006 African Cup of Nations tournament. He also became the captain of the Congolese national team. In 2013, he led his team in the 2013 African Cup of Nations in South Africa. In their first game, Mputu scored a goal in a 2–2 draw against Ghana.
After not playing for the national team for five years, he was called back in November 2018. He continued to play for his country until 2021.

Many people admired Trésor Mputu's football skills. In 2012, a coach named Claude Le Roy, who had coached both Cameroon and DR Congo, spoke highly of Mputu.
