Sibusiso Busi Moyo (1960 – 20 January 2021) was an important politician and army leader from Zimbabwe. He became well-known for announcing on TV that Robert Mugabe was no longer president during a big change in 2017. After that, he became the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade for Zimbabwe until he passed away.

Early Life and Education
Sibusiso Moyo was born in 1960 in a place called Mberengwa in Zimbabwe. He was the third of eight children in his family. When he was a student at Manama Secondary School, he joined the fight for Zimbabwe's freedom in 1977.
He was a very educated person. He earned two master's degrees: one in International Relations and another in Business Administration. He also received a PhD in International Relations. He studied at the University of Zimbabwe and the Zimbabwe Open University.
Military and Political Career
Sibusiso Moyo served as a high-ranking officer in the Zimbabwe National Army. He was promoted to major general in 2016 by former President Robert Mugabe. Later, when he retired from the army in December 2017, he was promoted to lieutenant general.
The 2017 Announcement
On November 15, 2017, Sibusiso Moyo made a very important announcement on national television. This happened after President Mugabe was placed under house arrest. Moyo said that the military was not taking over the country. He explained that they were only targeting "criminals" around President Mugabe. These criminals, he said, were causing problems for the country's economy and people.
Moyo promised that things would return to normal once their mission was complete. A few days later, he thanked all the people of Zimbabwe who marched to support the removal of Mugabe. Because of his role in this big event and his youthful look, people sometimes called him "General Bae."
Becoming a Minister
On November 30, 2017, Sibusiso Moyo was appointed as the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade. This happened after Emmerson Mnangagwa became the new President of Zimbabwe. Moyo was one of a few ministers who were not members of parliament at the time.
Because of his public role in the events that led to Mugabe's departure, some people in Zimbabwe thought Moyo might even become the next president after Mnangagwa. He also attended important international meetings, like the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in London in 2018.
Personal Life
Sibusiso Moyo was married to Loice Matanda. She is a judge and also served as the chairperson of the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC). Together, they had five children: two sons and three daughters.
Moyo sadly passed away on January 20, 2021, in Harare. He died from COVID-19. He was either 60 or 61 years old. He was buried at the National Heroes Acre, a special burial place for important people in Zimbabwe.
