Sica Sica (which means Sika Sika in the Aymara language) is a small town in western Bolivia. It is the main town of Aroma Province in the La Paz Department.

Sica Sica is about 115 kilometers (71 miles) away from La Paz, a major city in Bolivia. The town is located on the edge of a mountain ridge called the Serrania de Sicasica. This ridge is found between La Paz and Cochabamba.

The town sits very high up, at 3,933 meters (12,904 feet) above sea level. This area is part of the Bolivian Altiplano, which is a high plateau in the Andes mountains. In 2008, about 4,620 people lived in Sica Sica.

History and Landmarks

Sica Sica is home to a very old church. This church, named Fernando Soria, was built in the 1600s. It is now a special National Monument. Inside, you can see amazing old wood carvings and beautiful items made from gold and silver. These treasures come from the time when Spain ruled this part of the world.

Not far from Sica Sica is a town called Ayo Ayo. This town is famous as the birthplace of Julián Apaza. He was an important indigenous leader who fought for his people's rights a long time ago.
