The Life of Sid Tepper

As a young boy, Sid Tepper's family moved to Brooklyn, New York. There, he met Roy C. Bennett, who would become his songwriting partner. Their first big hit was "Red Roses for a Blue Lady" in 1948. This song was recorded by Guy Lombardo and his band.

Writing Hits for Famous Singers

For over 20 years, Sid Tepper and Roy C. Bennett wrote songs for many popular singers. These included Tony Bennett, Rosemary Clooney, Peggy Lee, Frank Sinatra, Sarah Vaughan, and Dean Martin. They were very successful.

When rock 'n roll music became popular, Tepper and Bennett adapted their style. In 1961, they wrote "The Young Ones." This song helped make Cliff Richard a huge star. They wrote 21 songs for him.
