Siddharth Kannan is a well-known Indian television and radio host. He is also an announcer, a voice-over actor, and a film critic. People often call him Sid K.

Early Life and Background

Siddharth Kannan was born in New Delhi, India. His family spoke the Tamil language. When he was young, his family moved a few times. First, they went to Kolkata. Then, they lived in Lucknow for eight years. Finally, in 1994, his family moved to Mumbai, where they settled.

Career Journey

Siddharth Kannan has had an exciting career in media. He started very young and has worked in both radio and television.

Radio Career

Siddharth began his radio journey at just 14 years old. He became a radio host at Times FM. This made him the youngest radio host in India! In 1997, while still in college, he joined Radio Star on 107.1 FM. There, he hosted a fun show called 'Miranda Char Baje Band Baje' with Cyrus Broacha.

Sid K also started India's first radio school in 1999, called 'Wild on Air'. He even hosted and produced Hindi shows for Emirates 2 FM in Dubai from Mumbai. He also worked for Rediff Radio. In 2009, he started a chat show called 'Meow Starburst' on Meow 104.8fm. This show featured many famous Bollywood celebrities. Later, it was renamed 'Oye Talkies' and then 'Bollywood Khul Ke' on Oye 104.8FM. Siddharth has interviewed many big stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Aamir Khan. He has also talked with Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, and Katrina Kaif.

Television Work

Siddharth hosted his first TV show in 2006. It was called 'Santa and Banta Newz Unlimited' on Zoom, with singer Baba Sehgal. In 2010, he started another TV show called 'See Taare Mastiii Mein' on Mastiii. This was another celebrity chat show.

In 2012, he was a commentator for 'Ring Ka King' on Colors. This show was about wrestling. In 2014, he hosted Star Sports Pro Kabaddi. In the same year, he also hosted the first season of the Champions Tennis League on Sony Six. On May 10, 2017, Siddharth Kannan was the official host for the red carpet at the Justin Bieber concert in DY Patil Stadium, Mumbai.
