Early Life and Background

Siddharth Kannan was born in New Delhi, India. His family speaks Tamil. He lived in different cities like Kolkata and Lucknow. In 1994, his family finally moved to Mumbai, where he has lived since.

Career Journey

Starting in Radio

Siddharth Kannan began his career very early. At just 14 years old, he became a radio host at Times FM. This made him the youngest radio host in India! In 1997, while still in college, he joined Radio Star on 107.1 FM. There, he hosted a show called 'Miranda Char Baje Band Baje'.

In 1999, he started India's first radio school, 'Wild on Air'. He also produced and hosted shows for Emirates 2 FM in Dubai and Rediff Radio. In 2009, he launched a chat show called 'Meow Starburst' on Meow 104.8fm. This show later became 'Oye Talkies' and then 'Bollywood Khul Ke'. On these shows, Sid K interviewed many famous Bollywood stars. These include Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Deepika Padukone.

Moving to Television

Siddharth hosted his first TV show in 2006. It was called 'Santa and Banta Newz Unlimited' on Zoom. He hosted it with singer Baba Sehgal. In 2010, he started another celebrity chat show, 'See Taare Mastiii Mein', on Mastiii.

In 2012, he was a commentator for 'Ring Ka King' on Colors channel. He also hosted sports events. In 2014, he was a host for Star Sports Pro Kabaddi. In the same year, he hosted the first season of the Champions Tennis League on Sony Six.

On May 10, 2017, Siddharth Kannan was the official red carpet host. This was for the Justin Bieber concert at DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai.

Siddharth Kannan is also a talented voice-over artist. This means he uses his voice for many different projects. He has been the voice for the IIFA AWARDS from 2000 to 2014. He has also done voice-overs for the Filmfare Awards and Stardust Awards.
