About Sierra de La Culata
This beautiful mountain range is found between two states in Venezuela: Mérida and Trujillo. It is known for its many lagoons. Most of these lagoons were formed a long time ago by glaciers during what is called the Mérida glaciation. This means that huge sheets of ice carved out the land, leaving behind these lovely lakes.
Protecting the Mountains
A special part of this mountain range is protected as a national park. It is called the Sierra La Culata National Park. This park helps to keep the mountains, their plants, and their animals safe. It's a great place for nature lovers to visit and explore.
