Sigi Wimala Somya Dewi, known simply as Sigi Wimala, is an Indonesian model and actress. She was born on June 21, 1983, in Jakarta, Indonesia. Sigi Wimala is famous for her work in both modeling and acting, and she has also explored photography and directing.

Her Career Journey
Starting as a Model
Sigi Wimala began her career in 1999. She won a "cover girl" contest for GADIS Sampul, a popular teen magazine in Indonesia. After this, she joined Elite Models, a well-known modeling agency. She then worked as a model in Hong Kong for about a year. In 2015, she was also working on a new clothing line. This line was designed for Muslim women and included sportswear with hijabs, which are headscarves worn by some Muslim women.
Acting in Movies
Sigi Wimala started acting in movies with a main role in the popular film Tentang Dia (which means About Her) in 2005. This movie was directed by Rudy Soedjarwo. For her role in Tentang Dia, she won the Best New Coming Actress award at the Indonesian Movie Award in 2007. She later acted in several other movies, including the films Macabre and Affair.
Exploring Photography and Directing
While studying architecture at Tarumanegara University, Sigi Wimala also took photography classes. Her photos were shown in many art exhibitions. These included "Trowulan" in 2006 at the National Museum of Indonesia in Jakarta. Another exhibition was "Singkawang Jade of Equator" in 2010 at Galeri Salihara. Her work was displayed alongside other famous artists.
Later, Sigi Wimala directed a music video for the Indonesian pop group RAN. She then directed her first short film, called Boy Crush, in 2009. This film was produced by the well-known Indonesian film director, Garin Nugroho.
Personal Life
In 2009, Sigi Wimala married Timo Tjahjanto, who is a film director. They met while working on the movie Macabre. They later divorced in 2021. Sigi Wimala has two children.
