Silas Katompa Mvumpa (born 6 October 1998), known simply as Silas, is a professional footballer. He plays as a forward or right winger. Silas plays for the German club VfB Stuttgart and the DR Congo national team. He was previously known as Silas Wamangituka Fundu.

Silas's Football Journey
Starting in Congo
Silas began his football career in Kinshasa, DR Congo. He played for a local club called Olympic Matete FC. When he was 17, his great playing skills helped him move to France. There, he joined a team called Alès.
Playing in France
After his first season with Alès, Silas moved to Paris FC. This team plays in Ligue 2, which is a professional football league in France. Silas played his first professional game for Paris FC on 31 August 2018. His team won the game 2–0 against Troyes. A few days later, he signed his first professional contract with the club.
Moving to Germany
On 13 August 2019, Silas signed a five-year contract with VfB Stuttgart. This is a German football club. He played a very important part in helping Stuttgart get promoted to the Bundesliga. The Bundesliga is Germany's top football league. In the 2019–20 season, he scored 7 goals for his team.
On 19 August 2023, Silas scored two goals in the first Bundesliga game of the season. Stuttgart won that game 5-0 against VfL Bochum. On 1 January 2023, Silas extended his contract with VfB Stuttgart until June 2026.
Loan to Red Star Belgrade
On 3 September 2024, Silas joined the Serbian club Red Star Belgrade. He moved there on a temporary loan from VfB Stuttgart. He played his first game for Red Star on 14 September. They won 2-0 against Napredak. He scored his first goal for the club on 23 September. This was in a 4-0 league win against Partizan.
Playing for His Country
Silas started playing for the DR Congo national team on 24 March 2023. His first game was a 3–1 win against Mauritania. This was part of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualification matches. On 21 January 2024, he scored his first goal for his country. It was in a 1-1 draw against Morocco during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Silas's True Identity
On 8 June 2021, VfB Stuttgart shared some important news. They announced that Silas's real name is Silas Katompa Mvumpa. Before this, he was known as Silas Wamangituka Fundu. It was also revealed that he was one year older than people thought. His actual birth year is 1998.
Silas explained that he felt confident enough to share these details. He had help from a new agent and his club. He had been worried about revealing this information before. After this news, Silas was fined €30,000 and banned from playing for three months by the German Football Association.
