Serving as a Bishop
Bishop Njiru took on bigger roles in the church over time. In 1975, he became an auxiliary bishop for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Meru in Kenya. An auxiliary bishop helps the main bishop.
He then became the main bishop of the Meru Diocese in 1976. He led the Meru Diocese for a long time, serving its community until 2004. His work involved guiding the church and its members in the region.
Later Life and Passing
After many years of service, Bishop Njiru retired. He passed away on April 28, 2020, at the age of 91. He died from COVID-19 in Rivoli, Piedmont, Italy.
