Silesia is a small community in Carbon County, Montana, in the United States. It is known as a "census-designated place." This means it's an area that the government counts for population, but it doesn't have its own city government.
In 2020, about 103 people lived in Silesia. The Clarks Fork Yellowstone River flows just east of the community. Silesia is also about 10 miles (16 km) away from the town of Laurel.
The Story of Silesia
Silesia got its name from a region in Central Europe also called Silesia. A man named Julius Lehrkind, who came from that European region, named the community.
The first post office in Silesia opened a long time ago, on May 18, 1900. Charles Buzzetti was the very first postmaster, which is the person in charge of the post office.
