Her Musical Education
Silvana studied piano in Turin with Amalia Pierangeli Mussato. She also learned how to compose music with Giorgio Ferrari. Later, she went to a summer school in Salzburg, Austria, to study with Kurt Leimer. She also attended the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena, Italy. There, she learned from famous composers like Luciano Berio and Pierre Boulez.
Awards and Recognition
Silvana Di Lotti won several important awards for her musical talent. She received the Alfano prize at the Turin Conservatory. In 1980, she won the Ancona Prize. This was for a piece she wrote for an oboe and a piano. This piece was even performed in Russia! In 1985, she won another award called Lobende Anerkennung in Germany.
Teaching and Performances
After finishing her studies, Silvana became a teacher. She taught harmony and counterpoint at the Turin Conservatory. She also taught at the A. Vivaldi Conservatory in Alessandria. Silvana's musical pieces have been played at big music festivals all over Europe.
