Silver Creek is a cool stream, or small river, in Oregon, USA. It's about 16 miles (26 km) long. This creek starts in the beautiful Silver Falls State Park, up in the hills of the Cascade Range. It then flows through Marion County, passing near towns like Silverton and Stayton. Silver Creek eventually joins a bigger river called the Pudding River.

Where Silver Creek Flows

Silver Creek begins in the northwestern part of Silver Falls State Park. It actually starts when two smaller streams, the North Fork and South Fork, join together.

Journey Through the Canyon

From its start, Silver Creek flows about 9.5 miles (15.3 km) north-northwest. It carves its way through a beautiful area called Silver Creek Canyon. Along this part of its journey, the creek flows into the Silverton Reservoir. This reservoir helps store water for the nearby city of Silverton.

Flowing Through Silverton

After leaving the canyon and the reservoir, the creek continues for about 2.5 miles (4.0 km). It then flows right through the city of Silverton. For a while, it runs next to Oregon State Highway 214. When it reaches North Water Street in Silverton, the creek turns and flows directly west.

Joining the Pudding River

Silver Creek continues its journey for another 3.2 miles (5.1 km) after leaving Silverton. Finally, it reaches its end point where it meets and joins the Pudding River. This is where Silver Creek's waters become part of a larger river system.
