His Early Life
Simon Merrells was born in London, England. His brother, Jason Merrells, is also an actor. Simon started studying acting at a drama school. But he soon left to work as a taxi driver. He wanted to earn money to travel to Mexico. In Mexico, he spent time painting.
When he came back to England, he joined a small theater group. This was in Brighton, where his brother lived.

Simon Merrells has had a busy career. He has performed on stage and in front of the camera.

Simon has acted in many plays. In 2007, he acted with his brother Jason. They played twin brothers in a play called The Comedy of Errors.
He has worked with a famous director named Steven Berkoff. They worked together on a play called Coriolanus. They even went on a world tour with this play. In 2009, Simon played Terry Malloy in On the Waterfront. Critics said he was strong and energetic in the role.
Simon also played Benedick in Much Ado About Nothing in 2007. In 2011, he played Oedipus in another play directed by Steven Berkoff. He was even nominated for an award for this role. Later that year, he played a detective named Philip Marlowe in The Big Sleep. People said he was very charming in that part.
