Early Life and Learning
Born in Roskilde, Denmark, Simon Sears grew up in Solrød Strand. He has an Italian father and a Danish mother, and two older brothers or sisters.
When he was younger, Simon loved to dance. He trained at the Solrød Centre and performed in dance shows and competitions. Before becoming an actor, he thought about different jobs. He moved to Hjørring for a short time. Later, he studied acting at the Danish National School of Performing Arts in Copenhagen. He finished his studies in 2014.
Acting Career
Simon Sears started his acting career on stage. In 2015, he acted in plays like Koks i kulissen and Cabaret at the Royal Danish Theatre. He also appeared in Visen om sidsel. That same year, he starred in his first full-length movie, 9. April, with actor Pilou Asbæk.
Awards and TV Debut
In 2016, Simon won the special Reumert Talent Prize. He received this award for his role in the play Sidst på dagen er vi alle mennesker. This play was shown at the Betty Nansen Teatret. He also started acting on TV in the DR series Follow the Money (called Bedrag in Danish).

Simon Sears starred in the 2017 movie Winter Brothers (Vinterbrødre). For this role, he was nominated for awards like the Bodil Awards and Robert Awards. He then got a main role as Christian in the DR series Ride Upon the Storm (Herrens Veje). He was nominated twice for a Robert Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Television Role for this part. In 2020, Simon starred in the Danish thriller movie Shorta. In 2019, it was announced that he would play Ivan in the Netflix series Shadow and Bone. This show is based on fantasy books by Leigh Bardugo. The series started in 2021.
Personal Life
Simon Sears lives in Copenhagen with his wife, Ingibjörg Skúladóttir. She is from Iceland. They have two sons. Their first son, Skúli Leví, was born on the same day Simon won his Reumert Prize in 2016. Their second son was born in 2019.
