When Simon was younger, he loved to dance. He trained at the Solrød Centre and even performed at big events and dance competitions. His family didn't have a lot of money when his father was growing up, so Simon explored different career ideas before choosing acting. He moved to Hjørring for a short time. Later, he went to the Danish National School of Performing Arts in Copenhagen, where he studied acting. He finished his studies in 2014.

His Acting Career

Simon Sears started his acting career on stage in 2015. He performed in plays like Koks i kulissen and the musical Cabaret at the Royal Danish Theatre. He also acted in Visen om sidsel at Grønnegårds Teatret.

His first big movie role was in 9. April in 2015, where he acted alongside Pilou Asbæk. The next year, he won a special award called the Reumert Talent Prize. He received this award for his amazing performance in the play Sidst på dagen er vi alle mennesker. Simon also started acting on TV in the Danish series Follow the Money (called Bedrag in Danish).

In 2017, Simon starred in the film Winter Brothers (Vinterbrødre). His role in this movie earned him nominations for two important awards: the Bodil Awards and the Robert Awards. He also began playing the main character, Christian, in the DR series Ride Upon the Storm (Herrens Veje). For this role, he was nominated twice for the Robert Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Television Role. He even won the best actor award at the Italian Digital Fiction Festival for his work on this show.

In 2020, Simon Sears starred in the Danish thriller movie Shorta. In 2019, it was announced that he would join the cast of the Netflix series Shadow and Bone. This show is based on the popular fantasy books by Leigh Bardugo. Simon played the character Ivan, and the series first came out in 2021.
