Sing A to Z is a super fun album by the famous children's group Sharon, Lois & Bram. It was first released in 1990. This album was so popular that it has been released many times over the years! Guess what? People say the idea for this album came from Lois. She and Sharon were out shopping and saw a cool alphabet quilt. That's how the idea for an alphabet-themed album was born!

Album Releases Over Time

The Sing A to Z album first came out in 1990. It was released by Elephant Records in Canada and A&M Records in the United States. The original cover showed Sharon, Lois & Bram with a border of alphabet letters.

Later, in 1994, a company called Drive Entertainment re-released the album. They added "Elephant" to the front cover because the album had won a special award called the Parent's Choice Award. Then, in 2004, Casablanca Kids Inc. released the album again. They decided to use the original cover design from 1990.

Here's a quick look at its releases:

  • 1990: Elephant Records/A&M Records (Cassette, CD, Video)
  • 1994: Drive Entertainment (Cassette, CD, Video)
  • 2004/2005/2008: Casablanca Kids Inc. (CD, DVD)

Videos and DVDs for Kids

To share the album with more people, Sharon, Lois & Bram went on a big tour across Canada and the United States. A 50-minute video was made from their "Sing A to Z Tour" show in Stratford, Ontario. This video was also updated and re-released by Drive Entertainment.

When Casablanca Kids Inc. brought out the album again, they also turned that 50-minute video into a DVD! It was called "Sharon, Lois & Bram's ABCs." This was the very first DVD in their collection. The DVD had cool extras like photo galleries of the trio and each singer. It also included bonus songs and a peek at the start of their second TV show, "Skinnamarink TV".

The DVD was released in both the United States and Canada, but they had slightly different covers. The Canadian version showed Sharon near the letter "A", Bram near "B", and Lois near "C". It was titled "Sharon, Lois & Bram ABC's". The American version had Lois near "B" and Bram near "C", and its title was "Sharon, Lois & Bram: ABC". Even the colors of the alphabet letters were a bit different between the two!

Besides the music and videos, a songbook called "Sharon, Lois & Bram Sing A to Z" was also published. It was filled with colorful drawings by Kim LaFave. Plus, it had the words and music for many of the songs from the album.
