Thomas Gérard Idir (born on June 26, 1980), known by his stage name Sinik, is a French rapper. He is also sometimes called Malsain or S.I.N.I.K.. His father is from Algeria, and his mother is French. In 2001, he started his own music label called Six o Nine (6-0-9).

A big moment in Sinik's career was meeting another rapper named Diam's when he was 14. They became very close friends, like "brother and sister."
In 2007, Sinik released an album called Le Toit du Monde (The Roof of the World). This album included a special song called "Je réalise" (I Realize). It featured the British singer-songwriter James Blunt. The song was unique because it had both English parts sung by James Blunt and French parts by Sinik.
