Dinadan's father was King Camdore. He had three brothers named Percival, Bor, and Aglovale. His cousin was Sir Pinel le Savage. This shows he came from a family connected to the world of knights and kings.

A Knight with a Sense of Humor

Dinadan was known for his funny side. In one story, the famous knight Lancelot played a trick on him. Lancelot dressed Dinadan in a dress and paraded him around the room! Everyone, including Dinadan himself, thought it was very funny. This shows he could laugh at himself.

Dinadan's Bravery and Skills

Even though he was known for his humor and sometimes fear, Dinadan was a skilled fighter. The writer Thomas Malory said that Dinadan was one of King Arthur's best knights. He was considered the third best, right after the legendary knights Lancelot and Tristan. Dinadan was so good that he fought off thirty knights by himself on at least two different occasions! This shows he was very brave and strong when he needed to be.
