Early Life and Music Beginnings
Mark Andrews grew up in Baltimore, Maryland. When he was a teenager, he worked at a candy store called The Fudgery. He worked there with Larry "Jazz" Anthony, James "Woody" Green, and Tamir "Nokio" Ruffin. These four friends later formed the music group Dru Hill. They signed with Island Records in 1996. The group got their name from Druid Hill Park, which was near where Mark lived.
Sisqó's Solo Career
In 1999, one of Dru Hill's members, Woody, decided to start his own solo career. The other members, including Sisqó, also decided to release their own solo albums.
Unleashing the Dragon Album
Sisqó's first solo album was called Unleash the Dragon. It was released in November 1999 by Def Soul Records. At first, the album sold okay. But then, in February 2000, he released his second single, "Thong Song". This song became a huge hit!
Big Hits and Recognition
"Thong Song" and his next song, "Incomplete", were very popular on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. "Thong Song" reached number three, and "Incomplete" went all the way to number one. Because of his success, a Sisqó doll was even made in 2001 by Play Along Toys.
Forming LovHer
In 1999, Sisqó also helped create a female music group called LovHer. They were the first female group on the Def Soul record label. Their song "How It's Gonna Be" was featured on the soundtrack for the movie Rush Hour 2 in 2001.
Beyond Music: TV and Movies
After his first solo album, Sisqó started to do more than just music.
Hosting and Acting Roles
He hosted a dance show on MTV called Sisqós Shakedown. He also started acting in movies. He had roles in Get Over It (2001) with Kirsten Dunst and Snow Dogs (2002) with Cuba Gooding, Jr.. He also appeared as a vampire in an episode of Sabrina the Teenage Witch.
Return of Dragon Album
Sisqó's second solo album, Return of Dragon, came out in June 2001. Even though it sold well enough to become platinum (meaning it sold over a million copies), its songs "Can I Live" and "Dance for Me" were not as popular in the US. However, "Dance for Me" was a top ten hit in the United Kingdom.
Reuniting with Dru Hill
By 2002, Sisqó got back together with Dru Hill. They released their third album later that year. However, the album did not sell very well, and the group's record deal ended.

"L.I.P.s" reached number 23 on the US Adult R&B charts.
