Skye Amiel Blakely (born February 4, 2005) is an American artistic gymnast. She is known for her strong performances on the balance beam and uneven bars. Skye has helped the United States win gold medals at the World Championships in both 2022 and 2023. She also earned a silver medal at the 2022 Pan American Championships and a bronze at the first-ever Junior World Championships in 2019.

Early Life and Gymnastics Start
Skye Blakely was born in 2005 in Dallas, Texas. Her parents are Steven and Stephanie Blakely. Skye has an older sister, Sloane Blakely, who is also a gymnast. Skye started her gymnastics journey in 2008 when she was just three years old.
Junior Gymnastics Highlights
Becoming a National Team Member
In 2018, Skye competed in several events as a junior gymnast. At the American Classic, she placed third in the all-around competition. Later that year, at the U.S. National Championships, she finished fourth in the all-around. She also won a silver medal on the floor exercise and a bronze on vault. Because of her great results, Skye was chosen to be part of the national team for the first time.
Junior World Championships Success
In 2019, Skye continued to shine. She helped the USA team win a gold medal at L'International Gymnix in Montreal. Individually, she won gold medals on both vault and uneven bars at that event.
Skye then competed at the Junior World Championships Trials, where she placed first in the all-around. This earned her a spot on the team for the first-ever Junior World Championships. There, she helped the USA team win a bronze medal. She also placed fourth on uneven bars and fifth on floor exercise in the event finals.
Strong Performances in 2020
Skye started 2020 by winning the all-around in the junior division at the WOGA Classic. She then competed at International Gymnix, where she helped the USA team win another gold medal. Individually, she won gold in the all-around, silver medals on vault, uneven bars, and balance beam, and a bronze on floor exercise.
Senior Gymnastics Career
Senior Debut and College Plans
Skye made her senior debut in 2021 at the 2021 Winter Cup. She won a gold medal on the balance beam. After winning the American Classic, she was again added to the national team. Skye competed at the National Championships, finishing seventh in the all-around. This qualified her for the Olympic Trials. However, she had to withdraw from the trials due to an injury during warmups.
In September 2021, Skye announced her plan to join the Florida Gators college gymnastics team. She officially signed with them in November 2022, planning to start after the 2024 Olympic Games.
World Championship Gold Medals
In 2022, Skye returned to competition at the 2022 Winter Cup, placing second in the all-around. She was part of the US team that won gold at the DTB Pokal Team Challenge in Germany. At the Pan American Championships, she won a bronze medal in the all-around and on floor exercise. She also helped the United States team win a silver medal.
Later in 2022, Skye was chosen for the World Championships team. She helped the USA team qualify in first place for the team final. In the team final, Skye competed on the balance beam, helping the USA win their sixth straight team gold medal! She also qualified for the balance beam final, where she placed fifth.
In 2023, Skye continued her success. She won silver medals on vault, uneven bars, and balance beam at the U.S. National Championships. She was again selected for the World Championships team. Skye competed on uneven bars and balance beam, helping the USA win their seventh straight World team title.
2024 Season and Injury
Skye started 2024 strong, winning the balance beam title at the 2024 Winter Cup and placing second in the all-around. At the National Championships, she finished second in the all-around behind Simone Biles. She also earned silver on vault and bronze on uneven bars and balance beam. These results qualified her for the Olympic Trials.
However, during a practice session before the Olympic Trials, Skye unfortunately injured her right Achilles tendon. This injury meant she had to withdraw from the competition, ending her chance to compete in the 2024 Olympics.
