Sloane Blakely (born December 23, 2002) is an American gymnast. She used to be part of the United States women's national artistic gymnastics team. Now, she competes for the Florida Gators in college gymnastics. Sloane is also the older sister of fellow gymnast Skye Blakely.

Early Life and Beginnings

Sloane Blakely was born in Dallas, Texas, in 2002. Her parents are Steven and Stephanie Blakely. She has one younger sister, Skye. Before she started gymnastics, Sloane enjoyed ballet and tap dancing.

Gymnastics Journey

Junior Elite Years

Sloane became a junior elite gymnast in 2016. She competed for the first time at the 2016 U.S. Classic. There, she placed 21st in the all-around competition. Later that year, she competed at the 2016 U.S. National Gymnastics Championships. She finished 18th overall at this event.

Senior Debut and National Team

In 2018, Sloane was old enough to compete at the senior level. Her first senior competition was the American Classic. She finished sixth in the all-around. She also placed fourth on the balance beam at the 2018 U.S. Classic.

The year 2019 was a big one for Sloane. She was chosen to join the team for 2019 L'International Gymnix in Montreal. This was her first time being named to the national team. At the event, she helped the USA team win a gold medal. Individually, she earned a silver medal on the balance beam.

Later in 2019, Sloane won gold on balance beam at the American Classic. She also placed second on vault. She was considered for the team going to the 2019 Pan American Games. However, she was not selected for that team.

Level 10 Success

In 2021, Sloane decided to compete at Level 10. She competed at the Nastia Liukin Cup. In May, she competed at the Developmental National Championships. She won first place in her division. She also won titles on all the gymnastics events! This made her the first Level 10 gymnast to win every title at a National Championships.

College Gymnastics Career

Joining the Florida Gators

In November 2020, Sloane signed to join the Florida Gators college team. She started competing for them in the 2021-2022 season.

Her college debut was on January 7, 2022. She competed on all four events. Sloane had the highest scores in the all-around and on balance beam. She was the first Florida Gator gymnast since 2012 to win the all-around in her first college meet. Because of this great start, she was named SEC Gymnast of the Week.

Sloane Blakely has achieved a perfect score of 10.0 in her college career.
