Gymnastics is an exciting sport where athletes perform amazing moves. At the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, gymnasts will compete in three main types of gymnastics. These are artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, and trampolining.

The artistic and trampoline events will take place at the Accor Arena. This venue is also known as the Bercy Arena. These events are scheduled from July 27 to August 5 for artistic, and August 2 for trampoline. Rhythmic gymnastics will be held at the Porte de La Chapelle Arena. You can watch these events from August 8 to August 10.

How Gymnasts Qualify for the Olympics

Getting to the Olympics is a big dream for gymnasts. The way athletes qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics is simpler than before.

Artistic Gymnastics Qualification

For artistic gymnastics, teams can now have up to five gymnasts. This is different from the last Olympics in Tokyo. The top three teams from the 2022 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Liverpool earned their spots. Many more spots were given out at the 2023 World Championships in Antwerp, Belgium. Gymnasts also had chances to qualify for individual events. They could do this through the 2024 World Cup series.

Rhythmic Gymnastics Qualification

In rhythmic gymnastics, the first athletes to qualify were from the 2022 Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships. This event was held in Sofia, Bulgaria. Individual and group medal winners secured their places in Paris. Most of the remaining spots were decided at the 2023 World Championships in Valencia, Spain. Fourteen individual gymnasts and five national teams from around the world competed for these spots.

Trampoline Gymnastics Qualification

For trampoline, half of the spots went to the best gymnasts at the 2023 Trampoline Gymnastics World Championships. This competition took place in Birmingham. Most other spots were earned through the 2023–2024 World Cup series. For all types of gymnastics, any remaining places were given out at special competitions in each continent.
