At the Olympic Trials, Jordan finished third in the all-around. She was selected to represent the United States at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
2024 Paris Olympics
During the qualification round at the Olympics, Jordan competed on all four events. She placed fourth overall. However, she did not advance to the all-around final. This was because only two athletes per country can compete in the finals. Her teammates Simone Biles and Sunisa Lee scored higher. Jordan also placed fourth on vault but did not qualify for the same reason. She did qualify for the floor exercise final in third place.
In the team final, Jordan performed on all four events. Her scores helped the U.S. team win their fourth Olympic team gold medal.
Jordan then competed in the floor exercise final. Her initial score was not high enough for a medal. However, her coach, Cécile Canqueteau-Landi, asked for a review of her score. The review was accepted, and Jordan's score was raised. This new score placed her in the bronze medal position.
Later, the Romanian Gymnastics Federation appealed this decision. They argued that the score review was submitted too late. The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) agreed. They ruled that the appeal was four seconds over the allowed time. Because of this ruling, Jordan's original score was put back. This moved her to fifth place. The bronze medal was given to Romanian gymnast Ana Bărbosu.
On August 11, the International Olympic Committee supported the CAS ruling. They announced that the bronze medal would go to Bărbosu. USA Gymnastics appealed this decision. They said they had video proof that the appeal was made on time. On August 12, the CAS denied their request to reconsider. USA Gymnastics stated they would continue to appeal. On September 16, 2024, Jordan filed an appeal in the Federal Supreme Court of Switzerland.
