Skye McCole Bartusiak (born September 28, 1992 – died July 19, 2014) was an American child actress and child model. She started acting at a young age and became known for her roles in several movies and TV shows. Some of her most famous roles include playing the youngest child in The Patriot (2000) and appearing in the TV series 24 (2002–03).

Early Life and School
Skye McCole Bartusiak was born in Houston, Texas. She lived there with her parents, Helen and Donald Bartusiak, throughout her life.
She went to St. Thomas Episcopal Academy and Lutheran South High School in Houston. Later, she graduated from Laurel Springs High School in Ojai, California in 2010.
Acting Career
Skye began her acting journey in 1999. One of her first roles was in Stephen King's TV movie Storm of the Century.
In 2000, she appeared in the movie The Patriot. She played Susan Martin, the youngest daughter of a character played by Mel Gibson. The next year, she played a young Marilyn Monroe in the TV miniseries Blonde. She also acted alongside Michael Douglas in the movie Don't Say a Word.
Skye continued to work in television. She played young Charlie McGee in Firestarter: Rekindled. From 2002 to 2003, she was Megan Matheson in the second season of the popular TV series 24.
In 2003, Skye also performed in a play called The Miracle Worker. She acted with Hilary Swank in North Carolina. She also appeared in the TV movie Love Comes Softly.
By 2005, Skye took on a main role in the horror film Boogeyman. She also appeared in an episode of the hospital drama House. In 2006, she played a lead role as Sunshine in the movie Kill Your Darlings.
Later Life and Passing
Skye McCole Bartusiak passed away on July 19, 2014, when she was 21 years old. She died at her home in Houston, Texas.
A memorial service was held for her in Houston. Her brother, Stephen, suggested that people plant a tree to remember her.
Officials later determined that Skye's death was an accident.
