The slender reedling (scientific name: Indolestes tenuissimus) is a type of damselfly. It belongs to the Lestidae family. These amazing insects live in parts of Australia, New Guinea, and the Aru Islands.

What is a Slender Reedling?
Slender reedlings are medium-sized damselflies. They usually have a wingspan of about 50 millimeters (2 inches). Their body length is around 45 millimeters (1.8 inches).
Appearance of the Slender Reedling
These damselflies have a pale blue main body section, called the thorax. It also has some darker patches. Their abdomen, which is the long part of their body, is mostly gray. The top part is a mid to dark gray. The bottom part is lighter. The very end of their abdomen, segment ten, often looks like a distinct pale band.
Where Slender Reedlings Live
Slender reedlings love places with fresh water. You can find them in swamps, ponds, and pools. In Australia, they live in the northeastern part of the country. This area stretches from the tip of Cape York Peninsula down to central Queensland. They choose habitats that are just right for them.
Conservation Status
The slender reedling has been checked by the IUCN Red List. This group looks at how many animals are left in the wild. They have listed the slender reedling as being of "least concern".
