Sliabh Liag, also known as Slieve League, is a stunning mountain located on the Atlantic coast of County Donegal, Ireland. It is famous for having some of the highest sea cliffs on the entire island of Ireland. These cliffs reach an amazing height of 596 metres (1,955 ft) (about 1,955 feet) above the ocean.

Even though the Cliffs of Moher in County Clare are more famous, the cliffs at Slieve League are nearly three times taller! This makes them a truly impressive natural wonder.

Exploring Slieve League's Cliffs

Slieve League offers incredible views and exciting walks. A famous part of the mountain is a narrow ridge called the "One Man's Path." This path is a thrilling walk along the very top of the cliffs. It's not usually dangerous, but it does require careful steps, especially if the weather is windy.

The northern side of Slieve League has a steep drop of about 450 meters (1,500 feet). This area is home to many special mountain plants. In fact, it has the most diverse group of alpine plants found anywhere in County Donegal.

How to Visit the Viewpoint

Most people photograph Slieve League from a special spot called Bunglass. You can get there by driving on a narrow road that starts from the village of Teelin. The last few kilometers of this road are built right along the edge of the cliffs. It's an exciting drive with some turns at the top of hills, leading you to the breathtaking viewpoint.
